Community Events Review

We're Reviewing Our Rate-Payer-Funded Community Events Calendar

The events budget for the Shire of Denmark is limited.

This initiative aims to ensure that the events funded by the Shire align with our community's interests and preferences. As part of this review, the Shire invites all residents to participate in a public survey to gather feedback on how you believe your funds should be allocated for community events.

The rate-payer-funded events held in the Shire of Denmark include:

  • ANZAC Day
  • Australia Day
  • Seniors Week
  • Volunteer Appreciation Week (which includes the Denmark Citizen of the Year and Sportsperson of the Year awards)
  • Youth Week
  • Our annual Christmas Event
  • International Day of People with Disability
  • Denmark Festival of the Voice
  • Brave New Works
  • Denmark Arts Market

This list includes both current and historical events held in the Shire of Denmark.

The survey allows residents to voice their opinions on the most valued events, whether cultural festivals, sports activities or other community gatherings. By participating in the survey, residents can help shape the future of community events in the Shire of Denmark, ensuring that our events funded by rate-payers are meaningful and enjoyable.

Residents are encouraged to take a few moments to complete the survey and share their thoughts. The survey is open to all community members and can be accessed here on the Your Denmark website. Physical copies of the survey can also be collected from the Shire Administration building, the Denmark Library and the Denmark Recreation Centre with a limit of one per person, to ensure the integrity of the data captured.

Your input is invaluable in helping the Shire of Denmark create a calendar of vibrant events reflecting the community's needs and desires.
