Draft Community Contributions Policy: Summary
The draft Community Contributions Policy is designed to create a fair and transparent approach for the Shire to follow when allocating financial support within the community. It seeks to replace historical ad-hoc funding arrangements with sustainable, long-term partnerships that provide certainty for community groups delivering essential services.
The policy outlines three policy principles as the means by which community groups can receive financial support from the Shire. These are:
The draft Property Management Policy is designed to establish clear and transparent guidelines for the management of properties owned or controlled by the Shire and may be leased or used by community groups and other external organisations. It will ensure efficient long-term service delivery, maintenance and the maximisation of value of these assets for the benefit of our community.
The policy seeks:
Consistent and equitable tenure arrangements within each property agreement classification
Terms that are responsive to changing conditions
Co-investment in maintaining the asset
Sharing arrangements that maximise the use of community facilities
