What types of planning applications are advertised?

Not all applications for planning approval are required to be advertised.

This depends on the zoning, the type of land use, and whether the proposal meets the Shire's development standards.

This is detailed in the Shire's Town Planning Scheme No. 3 and the State Government's Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015.

If you are unsure please contact the Shire for assistance.

    Will my details be anonymous?

Yes. We ask for your name and address to verify your submission, but at no stage will this information be provided to another party, unless we are required by law to do so.

How will my comments be assessed?

All comments received will be taken into account as part of the Shire’s assessment.

When concerns are raised, the applicant may be asked to respond or to amend their plans or conditions may be put in place to address issues of concern.

The Shire is required to determine the application based on planning grounds – objections may identify shortcomings, but an application cannot be refused solely on the basis of an objection having been received.
