Your Rates
It's time to talk rates for 2023/2024
Ratepayers fund a portion of the Shire's annual operating budget, with additional funding secured through grants, contributions, fees and charges.
Last year, just $41 of every $100 spent by the Shire of Denmark came from ratepayers.
Each year, we invite community feedback on proposed rates before Council votes and a decision is made. All the information you'll need to provide your comment on the proposed rates for the upcoming year is now available.

How do I have my say?
All Shire of Denmark residents and ratepayers are welcome and encouraged to contribute to the discussion on rates. Council carefully considers all public submissions received during the Public Comment period.
To submit your feedback formally, you must provide your comments in writing to the CEO before the Public Comment period closes. You can do this via the following methods:
- Online: complete the form below
- Email: enquiries@denmark.wa.gov.au
- Letter: PO Box 183, Denmark WA 6333
- In Person: you are welcome to drop off your letter to the Shire offices during business hours (weekdays, 9am - 4pm).
If you have questions about how your rates might be affected, you are welcome, as always, to contact our Rates Officer on (08) 9848 0301.
Frequently Asked Question: Do comments made on social media platforms count?
We monitor community sentiment online, but feedback must be formally submitted to the Shire in order for it to be recorded then presented to, and considered by, Council as part of the annual budget adoption process.
